BNP defeated in Rotherham by-election
The BNP came third in the recent Rotherham Wickersley by-election with 19.2% of the vote. Rotherham Unite Against Fascism leafleted the whole ward encouraging local people to use their vote to stop the BNP. The campaign must be sustained in order to prevent the BNP from winning any further seats and to ultimately end their presence in the area.
The result of the by election was:
Labour - 871 ELECTED
Conservative - 824
British National Party - 538
UK Independence Party - 373
Liberal Democrats - 191
